History of Thule
The company's Swedish roots go back to 1942. The company was founded by Erik Thulin. Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the name Thule on a pike trap he designed and started selling it to fishermen in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items, such as belt buckles, to his company's portfolio. In the sixties the company started to focus on car related products and soon the first roof rack was born. Thule became the largest manufacturer of roof boxes in the world.
